River Barn, Malmesbury, Wiltshire
The conversion of a victorian cattle barn, one of four buildings comprising a "model farm" built in a mock tudor style.
The design retains the barn feel of the existing building in the central Piano room and uses several changes of floor level to accommodate the required rooms and respond to the position of existing windows, a key restriction of planning approval.
The building fabric has been brought up to current building regulations standard, with a ground source heat pump and mechanical ventilation to reduce energy consumption.
